Pellet Stoves or Furnaces to Replace or Supplement Inefficient Heating this Winter

The Farmer’s Almanac says this winter will be “Cold.”  Home heating can put a big dent in your budget during the winter. But, in order to save money, you don't have to sit around wearing layers either. You can more efficiently heat your home without going broke to do it.

Most homes have one central heat source. A furnace that is fueled by gas, oil, coal, propane or electricity have been the most common options. But not anymore. Homeowners are starting to understand that pellet stoves and pellet furnaces are an efficient and economical way to heat in the winter.

In every home there is a place where people tend to congregate, the kitchen, family room, den, or great room. But sometimes, your central heating source does not heat your home evenly. Maybe your living room is the coldest room in the house in the winter. Turning up the heat is an inefficient way to get your favorite warmer. Now you have options.

Wood pellet stoves are a perfect option for heating one or two rooms of your home. If you want the cozy feeling your favorite room can offer, but you just are not warm enough a pellet stove is the perfect solution. A traditional open fireplace is inefficient, allowing most heat to go up the chimney. An open fire in an open hearth can even make a room colder! They are an efficient and cheaper source of heat that can be used to heat your whole home more economically that an older furnace using fossil fuels. Pellet furnaces can actually be used to replace a furnace in a forced-air heating system fairly easily.

An old oil, gas or electric furnace can be replaced by a more efficient and environmentally-friendly central heating pellet furnace, which will produce the heat need to heat your home all winter for less money. And, they work in the same way as a normal forced-air system.
